MEET CARRIE
Carrie Potter, MBA, CFP®, is a strategic business and financial advisor, educator and nonprofit board leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning sports, entertainment and business.
As Principal of Potter Advisors, she advises businesses, professional athletes, entertainers and entrepreneurs on financial strategy, business operations, transactions and growth. Her career includes executive leadership in athlete business affairs, investment evaluation, capital strategy and commercial development.
Carrie is also a Lecturer in Sport Finance at Rice University and a Venture Partner with The Collectiv, bringing practical industry experience to emerging business leaders and investment opportunities.

Develops and teaches Sport Finance in the Department of Sport Management and serves as Divisional Advisor and Faculty Associate at Chao College.

Previously directed financial and business affairs for elite professional athletes, established financial systems for client-owned businesses and evaluated investment opportunities across multiple industries.

Her experience also includes developing and managing philanthropic initiatives for professional athletes and their nonprofit organizations, leading fundraising campaigns, signature events, and strategic partnerships to advance organizational missions and community impact.
